Skip the 10-year council allotment waiting list. Tell us where you are, how much space you want, and what you'd like to grow. We'll match you with a landowner near you with space to share — a back garden, farm corner, church land, school grounds.

How It Works

  1. Tell us your situation — location, plot size you need, what you want to grow, when you want to start.
  2. We match — we send your enquiry to a small number of relevant landowners in your area.
  3. You arrange directly — if you match, you agree rent (typically €100–€400/year depending on size and area), duration, water access, and tools directly with the landowner. Homegrown doesn't take a commission in Phase 1 — we just introduce.
  4. You grow — typical arrangement is a full growing season, renewable.

For comparison: a council allotment costs roughly €50–€100/year (at €1/m²), but the waiting list is 2–10 years. Private plot-share is 2–4× the price but immediate.

What's included varies. Some arrangements include water access, a shed, tools, polytunnel use. Others are bare-ground only. Ask the landowner what's in and what's not before you commit.
